This can include familiar situations, people, and routines that are known and predictable. While being in a comfort zone can provide a sense of ease and relaxation, however this can also limit personal growth and prevent individuals from exploring new opportunities and experiences. Stepping outside of one's comfort zone can be difficult and uncomfortable, no one likes [[Adversity Paradox|adversity]], but it can also lead to personal development, increased self-confidence, and new perspectives see the [[Adversity Paradox]]. Thus, while staying in or maintaining my comfort zone may offer temporary relief, breaking out of it can lead to long-term fulfilment and growth. ## How is this relevant to our work? Human beings want to be comfortable. When something happens in our environment that causes us to respond in a way that our amygdala fires this leads as previously discussed to fight flight or freeze. When this occurs we want to stop the concerning event from happening essentially I want to [[Experiential Avoidance| avoid the experience]]. Therefore if someone behaves in a manner you find concerning in close enough proximity to you you will want to resolve the discomfort you experience. Your desire will be how do I return to my comfort zone as quickly as possible. Wanting to [[Experiential Avoidance|avoid]] this is perfectly normal however reduces your development, please see the [[Adversity Paradox]] - more coming - [[Stress]] - [[Pressure & Stress Training]]
